Papa's Operation in IJN.

Papa is going for a bypass operation for his heart in IJN. He was given a letter few months back for preparation like dental check up, blood pressure, sugar level..blablabla. and also, he should not be coughing/sick 2 weeks before getting admitted. He also had to stop eating aspirin pills and Chinese herbs. No smoking for at least 6 weeks, but Papa did well in this. He quit smoking few months back.
He really took care of his diet, finally. Normally, he drinks Nescafe frequently, simply take cheesy stuffs.

I'm proud of you, Papa. :)

Friday, 10th Dec, 2010. That was when Papa was admitted. This is my first time visiting him in IJN. I'm impressed with IJN's cleanliness and its interior design! From the porch itself, it looks like a hotel! Hospital KL (GH) was nothing compared to IJN. hahaha.

Happened to see this Malay boy snapping pictures of himself & little sisters at there. Funny to see people camwhoring at hospital. sorry, really funny. :P

Anyway, I didnt have the chance to eat at the cafeteria. Heard from Papa that food was not bad. Maybe today I can try? :D We are going to visit him again before his operation on Monday.

Joe is being such a good boyfriend, brother in law, son in law. XD He offered to fetch us to IJN and also send us home. Mama was happy but she didnt want to show it much la. Papa doesn't know. I dont want to make him go unhappy before the operation. Plus, Joe understands this matter well. He didn't want Papa to know tht he is going to be there too, but outside the room. Kesian Syg. Sabar ye Syg. The day will come. :)

So, we did talk with the doctor. He said that my father's case is different due to his legs condition. He did bypass before on his left leg and its doing fine. Right leg is giving some problem; couldn't even find the vein! It was too complicated. Right hand is out of the choices too; used before. Therefore, the doctor will be using his left hand.

According to the doctor, our hand got one blood vessel coming down from the top to the the elbow, then its parted into two vessels. It is good enough to have one vessel there for our hand. This is why they will take one of the vessels there and then make a "flyover" as the new route for the blood flow at Papa's heart. 3 out of the 4 valves are blocked because of his blood is too thick. I'm not too sure about the smoking habit though.

So I do not want to start being emotional nor negative about this. I just hope the operation will be going smooth. Papa will be in ICU on Monday and he will only be awake from sleep by Tuesday onwards. Been through this before for his previous leg bypass. It is normal, so we wouldn't be calling him on Monday. We shall wait for Papa to call us back on Tuesday.

I trust the doctors in IJN. I know they can help Papa. :) And yes, he must be resting in hospital for at least 1 week or when he recovers. Doctor do not allow Papa to do heavy work for two months. He need to rest and do not carry things more than 2kg for this two months. This is when me, Yen & Mama shall prevent him from doing anything heavy! :)
