What was the dishes that we had for our 1st day of CNY?


This is one of the Thai curries that I love - Pickled Fish Stomach Curry. Mama calls it Kaeng Phung Pla but when I google it, it was difficult to find a photograph of it! Maybe its proper commercialised name is Kaeng Tai Pla. Seriously delicious. Don't be tricked by the colour, it is very spicy.

I think most people know this Thai Green Curry. Yes, its chicken meat. I know my boyfriend loves this curry. hehehe. This is another chicken curry but with less gravy yet more spicy. Not really my favourite though.

I have some Vegetarian guests. So they can have this dish with rice :)Yes, another vegetarian dish. Nat was telling me that this is her favourite. hehe.

Oh yes, some ulam, cucumbers, and some other raw vegetables were prepared for Sambal Belacan.

Some translation for those who wants to know:
Phad Phet - Masak Pedas (errr..in English I don't know, don't ask)
Phet - Spicy
Kaeng - Curry
Pla - Fish
Phung - Stomach
Tai - Under
Khiau - Green
Wan - Sweet

Like usual, the dishes were finished fast! Luckily Mama kept some for us to eat later. Some people actually did some take aways. Hahah. I wonder when Mama will start her own food business. :)
